Science

Science at Green Gates is exploratory and
           investigative. Children are provided with

           stimulating questions to explore, which
creates a sense of excitement and curiosity
           - a fundamental aspect of science learning.
We aim to develop a passion for science and
a lifelong interest in the subject.

           Intent
As a school, we aim to:
                                                                  Implementation - EYFS
                   Support children to develop an
understanding of the process and methods In the EYFS, there are engaging, stimulating and fun

Develop and nurture our children’s curiosity independently; creating their own experiments
by not only following the National related to their current learning. Teachers will

questions and interests to develop a love, curiosity and in turn motivate children to explore
passion and appreciation for Science; key areas of provision.

including observing changes over a period follow the ‘Thinking, Doing, Talking Science’ model
of time, noticing patterns, grouping and which focuses on the development of challenging,
